Virginia Beach, Va., – Valkyrie Enterprises, LLC, an ISO 9001:2015 certified company, proudly announces it has become one of the first defense industrial base (DIB) companies to achieve a Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) Level 2 by a certified third-party assessment organization.  The certification is critical as the federal government begins instituting new cybersecurity and controlled unclassified information (CUI) requirements for DIB companies and contract awards.

“Achieving CMMC Level Two is a major milestone that validates years of focused investment in security infrastructure, disciplined processes, and enterprise-wide commitment to protecting sensitive customer information,” said Valkyrie Enterprises President & CEO Dave Streett.

The federal government began rolling out its CMMC requirements on November 10th, requiring a DoD-estimated 300,000 DIB companies and suppliers to reach certain security levels.  Cyber AB, the CMMC accreditation body, estimated roughly 400 DIB companies have achieved third-party certification so far.

“This certification reinforces Valkyrie’s role as a trusted partner within the defense industrial base,” said IT Director Brian Scheible.  “We [Valkyrie Enterprises] identified early on that the CUI and cyber hygiene landscape was changing and made sure we were prepared to meet our customers’ requirements.”
